More About Me...
So, just who is this Jenny person anyway, and what is she doing with a site that looks like it
should belong to Hollis somebody?  Well, I'll answer the second question first because it's
slightly more straightforward.  Hollis is my public "craft name" and it has served me well, but
as part of my commitment to being available to my community and open about my choice of
religion I stopped using it.  Being that it's a name I chose for myself I sometimes identify more
strongly with "Hollis" than with my given name, especially in a Wiccan context, so sometimes I
get confused and sign things to my coven or my tradition's email lists as Hollis.  Luckily they
pretty much know who I am, so it's OK.  A few friends still know me exclusively as Hollis and
call me that, which comes in handy if there's another Jenny/Jen/Jennifer in the room, and if
you're one of us you know how often that happens!   There's no reason for them to stop calling
me that if they're comfortable with it, and I answer to either name.  So I kept the Hollis in
"Hollis' Hearth" because that's me, too.
As far as Jenny is concerned, I have a lot of biographical information available on the web.  My
Second Circle Lesson Four gives a nice, in-depth reading of how I got where I am spiritually.  I
have a brief profile on Witchvox, but I'll go ahead and repeat some of that information here.
At the moment (04-15-2006) I am a 30-ish wife and mother.  My husband Don and I have been
married for about five years, and we have two children ages 3 and 19 months.  We currently
have two cats, but that number changes often and sometimes dramatically.  I work full-time as
a banker.  I am a two-time college drop-out with hopes of returning with yet another major in
mind when my husband finally finishes his degree.  Within Wicca I am a student of the Third
Circle of Universal Eclectic Wicca and am a member of the Association of Universal Eclectic
Wicca Clergy.  For approximately six years I have been a lay-minister or UEW and I am now
the founder and priestess of Star and Spiral Coven in Bethlehem, PA.  My goal is to finish
my
Third Circle project this year and get that "student" out from in front of my status.  Ultimately
I'd like to be ordained, and I am actively working toward that goal.  Helping develop a
professional Wiccan clergy is something I feel very strongly about.
Why have I been so narcissistic as to put up an entire website devoted to me me me and my
work in Wicca?  Well, it started as three whole pages because I needed a place where I could
trust that the course work I was doing in UEW would not be lost, misplaced, or over-written
with porn downloaded from the 'net.  The Internet seemed like a pretty good place to do that.
Eventually I had more stuff to store, and then I had opinions to express, and then I wanted to
make things that I had done available to other people to learn from in the same way I had
learned from people who had posted essays and rituals on the Internet for the public to see.
Hopefully someone, somewhere, will find some small part of it useful.
